A Little About Us
Our focus at 3Stream is online marketing and communication for higher education and research (STEM) clients. We work together with clients to assist with student marketing at one end of the spectrum - to setting up websites for research and teaching at the other. We have created virtual campus tours, social media recruitment campaigns, program websites, alumni CRM tools, conference management applications, publication databases ... if you can imagine it being a part of research and learning then we probably have some experience which we can share with you.
We have experience managing online marketing projects using all the current social media systems, and have partner vendors around the globe. While have created websites in various systems including wordpress, joomla, typo3, and bitrix to name a few, we really do like the open source CMS Drupal.
We were early believers in responsive websites - websites that work on every device. Mobile device sales surpassed those of dekstop devices in the 4th quarter of 2011. Facebook reported that more user access on mobile devices than desktop in the 4th quarter of 2013. The "Mobile Moment" has already occurred, so let's think mobile first.
Our team have consulted on more than 300 online projects for diverse clients in the fields of private and public education, research, and business in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Canada, and the US. Our team comprises digital specialists, most of whom have worked in the field since 1994 - and our network of partners spans the globe. In addition, we spend a lot of time thinking about digital communication - you can read some of our thoughts and ideas right here on our blog.
What Drives Us
Your project is very important - so the tools used to build that project should be equally as important. At 3Stream we are passionate about 3 things: Mobile First, Content Strategy, and Open Source. Using the right tools, and having the right focus, is the best way to ensure your project succeeds. Which is one reason why we run on Drupal.
What is Drupal? Drupal is a Content Management System (CMS). Drupal is Open Source, uses Symphony PHP and Twig, is Mobile First, and is all about creating amazing Multi-language websites.
Of the top global 10K sites that run websites using a CMS, wordpress has 40%, drupal 9%, joomla and blogger 1% then a mixed bag of the rest. This picture changes depending on what country you are in but wordpress stays fairly constant.
According to a recent statistic, 71 per cent of the top universities use Drupal. Universities such as Harvard, Rutgers, Brown, Caltech, Stanford, Oxford, MIT. and Lehigh (to name a few) all use Drupal for their sites. While other schools for example Yale, Cornell, and McGill use Drupal for peripheral sites like the library, alumni, research units - one can well imagine a complete website integration soon.
